Psychotherapy

Find Guidance Towards Mental Wellness

Life feels heavy right now, and you're tired of just 'talking about it.' Let’s work together to find practical strategies and emotional relief so you can feel like yourself again.

Psychotherapy: Individual / Family

Life’s challenges—whether past trauma, a major transition, a health limitation, or deep-seated anxiety—can feel overwhelming, but these feelings are not "failures." They are your mind's way of asking for help.
Psychotherapy is an opportunity to learn, understand, become aware, and reflect, as much as it is to feel, discover, express, and re-write the narratives that we have of ourselves, given way to the inner life we want to live. We won't just sit in the pain; we’ll look at the systems—work, family, and society—that impact your peace. Using a blend of therapeutic modalities, we’ll build a toolkit that actually works for your life.
Dr. Alzate carries a small caseload, meaning you get her full clinical focus and more flexible scheduling that fits your life. She is In Network with Aetna and Carelon Behavioral Health. For Out of Network (OON), she provides a super bill that you can use to submit for reimbursement. Companies like Thrizer that do that for you for a small fee and much faster than on your own. OON Fees:
Fees: Initial Evaluation: $180.
53 minute-Psychotherapy: $150.
Additional 30 minutes: $75
4 session package (excluding initial evaluation): $500
Location: Virtually, in office, or in-person Ecotherapy at a selected park. See her profile in Psychology Today https://www.psychologytoday.com/profile/388653 and book and appointment if you are ready.

Who I Work With:
I work with adults who are carrying a lot—and are ready for a calmer, more grounded way of living. Many of my clients are in the middle or later seasons of life. They are juggling careers, aging parents, changing relationships, health concerns, and big questions about what they want the next chapter to be. They’re often the “strong one” in the family or workplace, and they are tired of doing it all alone.
 I’m a Good Fit for:
  • Middle‑aged adults and older adults who feel pulled in many directions and want space to slow down, reflect, and make thoughtful changes.
  • Women in midlife and beyond who have spent years taking care of everyone else and are starting to ask, “What about me?” or are going through mental and physical changes due to pre & menopause.
  • Divorced or separated parents who are trying to co‑parent, navigate difficult dynamics with an ex‑partner, or rebuild a sense of self after the end of a relationship.
  • Parents of adult children who are wrestling with boundaries, worry, and changing roles as their kids move out, move back in, or start families of their own.
  • People living with chronic illness—or caring for someone who is—and feeling the emotional weight of those changes.
  • Adults facing grief and loss, whether that’s the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the loss of the life they thought they would have.
  • Folks dealing with mild to moderate depression, anxiety, or feeling “off” as they move through major transitions like relocation, retirement, or big shifts in family life.
If you recognize yourself in these descriptions, you don’t have to figure it out alone. Therapy can offer a steady place to sort through what’s happening, make sense of your reactions, and move toward a life that feels more workable and aligned with who you are now.

Mental Health Evaluations*

Oftentimes, a mental health evaluation by a licensed mental health professional is necessary in order to obtain certain prescription medications, (e.g. ADHD) and to receive accommodations for standardized testing (e.g. TOEFL, GRE), school and work environments. Dr. Alzate assesses adults’ mental status, describes possible causes, prognosis, and recommends treatment. She specializes on evaluations for depression, anxiety, binge eating, PTSD, and ADHD. Dr. Alzate provides the professional documentation required to level the playing field so you can perform at your best. Location: virtually or in her office.
